About Arts Education

Summer class at Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts
The Arts Education Program serves as a resource hub for the San Francisco arts education community, providing arts access advocacy for youth and families through its strategic partnerships with organizations such as the San Francisco Unified School District, the Arts Providers Alliance of San Francisco, the Arts Education Funders Collaborative and the Department of Public Works.
The Arts Education Program works with the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) to support the implementation and evaluation of the Arts Education Master Plan and lends its voice to budgetary and policy issues regarding arts education. The Arts Education Program provides organizational and outreach support to the Arts Providers Alliance of San Francisco, a consortium of San Francisco arts organizations that provides professional development for teaching artists and arts administrators and organizes an annual resource fair. The arts education program’s partnership with the Arts Education Funders Collaborative has produced six editions of Inside/Out, a guide to arts and arts education resources for youth in San Francisco.
In addition to the aforementioned partnerships, the Arts Education Program develops and manages its own unique initiatives such as the Department of Public Works-funded StreetSmARTS and Where Art Lives initiatives.
