15th Annual National Queer Arts Festival

Queer Cultural Center celebrates the fifteenth anniversary of the National Queer Arts Festival with an array of programming across San Francisco in June and early July. Highlights include:

  • ReMix: ReFraming Appropriation, which mines 15 years of National Queer Arts Festival exhibitions towards understanding the centrality of the act of appropriation for queer art of the recent past. The exhibition is on view at SOMArts Cultural Centers' main gallery on view June 1 through June 26.
  • The eighth annual Queer Women of Color Film Festival on June 8-10 at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The festival is presented by Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project.
  • Queer Rebels of the Harlem Renaissance presented June 28-30, which will premiere all new work and connect generations and genres with artists presenting Jazz, Blues, Poetry, Burlesque, Film, and Dance in a divinely 21st century Speakeasy.
