11-year-old Boy Interviews Obama

Damon Weaver, an 11-year-old reporter from KEC TV got his wish to interview President Obama. Weaver asked Obama about education, school lunches, bullies, violence, basketball (”Can you dunk?”) and what it’s like to be president.

KEC TV is a television news program broadcasted to the 500 students at Kathryn E. Cunningham/Canal Point Elementary in Florida. The news program is completely produced by a selected group of 5th and 6th grade students.

At the end of the interview, Weaver asked Obama if he would like to be his homeboy. The commander-in-chief agrees and Weaver declares, “President Obama is now my homeboy too.”
