Vampire Holiday Cards

WritersCorps and the San Francisco Public Library are teaming up for an extra special holiday workshop. Make your own Vampire Holiday Cards using collage materials and text from your favorite vampire novels! Muahahaha!! This workshop is offered four times at the Mission Branch Library and led by WritersCorps teaching artist Carrie Leilam Love.

When: Monday, December 21, 2009, 6 pm

Collage, Poetry and Journaling

WritersCorps and the Teen Center at the San Francisco Main Public Library join forces to present a new workshop on writing and collage. Turn your imagination and memory into words and images on a page. Create work that expresses your own unique thoughts and dreams using fancy paper, paint, old maps and found items. Bring poems that have inspired you along with your own work and a willingness to learn and work together to build a fun and supportive environment.

When: Saturdays, 2 - 4 pm

Workshop: Beyond Journal Writing for Teens

We have a new workshop underway at the Main Library. Though this class started last week, it’s not too late to join. In this eight-week class, students will have the opportunity to develop and share all kinds of writing (poetry, memoir and more) in a supportive group led by WritersCorps teacher Cindy Je.

Excelsior Branch Spring 2009 Writing Workshop

WritersCorps is starting a new writing workshop at the Excelsior Branch of the San Francisco Public Library. This eight-week creative writing workshop will awaken your powers of observation, imagination and language while providing a chance to share your work.

A WritersCorps teacher will lead workshops in a safe, supportive atmosphere, introducing valuable writing craft basics.

When: Wednesdays, 4 - 5:30 pm
February 4 to April 1, 2009 (Please note no class will be held on February 18)

Who: Open to teen writers, ages 12 to 19.

New Writing Workshop Starts January

Don’t have a WritersCorps teacher at your school? Then join us at the public library. Starting January 4th, WritersCorps teacher Cindy Je will be leading writing workshops every Friday after school at the main library in downtown San Francisco. This nine-week class gives students the opportunity to develop and share writing in a supportive group.
