Since 1994, WritersCorps teaching artists have not only helped youth improve their writing skills, but also inspired them to stay in school, to develop further as thoughtful individuals, and to discover and act on their own goals in life. We focus on youth whose voices are historically underrepresented, and provide meaningful opportunities for them to learn and grow.
Evaluation results prove that our program works. Ninety percent of WritersCorps youth show improvements in their writing after participating in our programs. In October 2010, we received the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award from First Lady Michelle Obama.
As the national award attests, WritersCorps is one of the best in the country when it comes to providing meaningful and life-changing arts programming to young people.
But we can’t do it without your help.
Please consider making a contribution to San Francisco WritersCorps. Your gift will empower youth to impact their peers, communities, and the wider world with their voices.
