Chrissy Anderson-Zavala studied and taught poetry in June Jordan's Poetry for the People at U.C. Berkeley. She is a Xicana writer from Salinas, California, and holds a B.A. from U.C. Berkeley and a master's of art in education from Stanford. She is one of the co-founders of Common Language, a multicultural feminist literary journal in partnership with Aunt Lute Books.
