WritersCorps Sites
WritersCorps places accomplished writers in agencies serving
youth, such as schools, juvenile detention facilities, social service
agencies and after-school programs. We serve youth, ages 6 to 21,
with a particular emphasis on immigrant, incarcerated, homeless,
educationally- disadvantaged and low- income youth. Since 1994, WritersCorps has worked in more than 52 community-based organizations
in San Francisco. Each year WritersCorps provides services in 12 to 15
sites. Sites must support the literary arts programming and participate
in events, publications and evaluation.
