WritersCorps Sites

WritersCorps places accomplished writers in agencies serving youth, such as schools, juvenile detention facilities, social service agencies and after-school programs. We serve youth, ages 6 to 21, with a particular emphasis on immigrant, incarcerated, homeless, educationally- disadvantaged and low- income youth.

Since 1994, WritersCorps has worked in more than 52 community-based organizations in San Francisco. Each year WritersCorps provides services in 12 to 15 sites. Sites must support the literary arts programming and participate in events, publications and evaluation.

To learn more information about receiving a WritersCorps teacher, please contact Gloria Yamato, at 415-252-4655 or e-mail Gloria.Yamato@sfgov.org.
