Nínive Calegari
Nínive Clements Calegari is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of 826 National, a tutoring, writing, and publishing nonprofit based in seven cities across the country whose goal has been to assist students ages 6-18 with their writing skills while helping teachers get their classes excited about writing. Ms. Calegari has also served as Co-founder and Executive Director for 826 Valencia and currently serves as an Advisory Board member for George Lucas Educational Foundation.
Ms. Calegari is a coauthor of Teachers Have it Easy: the Big Sacrifices and Small Salaries of America’s Teachers, and has taught at a variety of high schools across the country. Ms. Calegari was named one of 2007’s “Daring Dozen: Twelve Who Are Reshaping the Future of Education” by Edutopia Magazine. She received her Master’s Degree in Education in Teaching and Curriculum from Harvard Graduate School of Education and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Middlebury College.
