Maya Draisin, Vice President

Maya Draisin is the Co-Founder and Chairperson of The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences. An advocate for technology, media arts and the Web, she lectures and comments worldwide on the intersection between people, technology, art and activism as well as the elements of excellent Web development.

Through the Academy, Maya has been the creative force behind new initiatives that further the scope of the web such as: the launch of the First Annual Webby Effectiveness Awards (October 2002), the first Internet Sweeps Month in partnership with Nielsen//NetRatings (May 2002), the Lifetime Achievement Award (2001), and the SFMOMA Webby Prize for Excellence in Online Art (2000).

In addition, she has co-authored a variety of broadcast experiences including: "Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Happiness," a 2003 Sundance selected short-documentary; The 2001 Webby Awards webcast, hosted by Sam Donaldson; and a film honoring Gordon Moore narrated by Harrison Ford.
