Astrid Haryati

As Greening Director for the City & County of San Francisco, Astrid Haryati shapes policies as well as coordinates improvement programs and the application of sustainable strategies for San Francisco’s built environment—particularly in the public realm: from comprehensive stormwater solutions to the making of better streets, from high quality open space network to the interconnecting ecological infrastructure, and from singular green technology to innovative assemblies for vibrant and sustainable places.

Ms. Haryati has fifteen years’ experience in urban design as both Architect and Landscape Architect, and has worked on projects in Asia, Europe and North America. Following her career in the private sector, Ms. Haryati was Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley’s Assistant for Green Initiatives. She received her Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Colorado at Denver and her Bachelor of Architecture from Institut Teknologi Bandung in Indonesia.
