When does the Civic Design Committee meet?
The Civic Design Committee meets the third Monday of every month at 3:00 p.m. at the Arts Commission offices located at 25 Van Ness, Suite 70, unless that Monday falls on a legal holiday. In that case, the meeting will be held the following Monday. Please check the agenda under Agendas and Minutes.
What is the deadline to place my project on the agenda for Civic Design Committee meetings?
The deadline to submit a request to be placed on the agenda is at noon on the Monday prior to the meeting at which you wish to make a presentation. Information packets must be submitted by this deadline as well.
How do I prepare an information packet for the Civic Design Committee?
You’ll find detailed information at the Civic Design Program section of the website.
What projects need approval from the Arts Commission rather than the Planning Commission?
The Arts Commission Civic Design Review Committee conducts a three-phase review of new and renovated civic construction projects. Projects include buildings, bridges, viaducts, elevated ways, approaches, gates, fences, lamps or other structures on land belonging to the City and County. All private construction projects are reviewed by the Planning Commission.
