Brianna Smith, Researcher and Assistant to the Director of Programs
Brianna Smith comes to the Arts Commission from the world of book publishing. She is currently the photo editor and researcher for the Arts Commission's forthcoming book, Arts of the City: A Cultural History of San Francisco, as well as assistant to the Director of Programs. Brianna began her career in New York City at The Paris Review and then at Times Books. Since moving to San Francisco in 2006, she has been an art editor for Flavorpill, a reader at Zoetrope: All-Story, and a fiction and pop culture editor for Chronicle Books. She also teaches English and composition to degree-seeking inmates enrolled in the College Program at San Quentin State Prison. She is a graduate of Columbia University, where she studied English literature.
