Beatrice Thomas – My Online Dating Stats! 4 Sites, 3 Months Opening Season, Month 1

In the spirit of the Isn't It Obvious? exhibition and Clog Celebration, Beatrice Thomas looked at what is most obvious in her own life and right now – that is the strange and amorphous state that is online dating. Many of the works included in Isn't It Obvious? strive to create a personal vernacular – from Kristina Lewis drawing parts of circles based on the shapes that make up umbrellas  or Daniel Nevers screen printing covers of self-help books and attaching them to pieces of wood – these artists are breaking down well worn languages prescribed to us to help us make sense of the world in order for these languages to make sense to them.
Beatrice is tearing away the frivolous sheen of online dating marketing and exposing the raw data and algorithms that make these kinds of “perfect matches” even remotely possible. So let’s dive into,  Online Dating Stats with Beatrice Thomas as she investigates 4 dating sites in 3 months.  Opening season month 1.
