Family Day at SFAC Gallery: A Day of Building Art with Everyday Stuff.

Date and Time: Saturday, February 5, 2011 Noon - 3 PM
Location: SFAC Main Gallery, 401 Van Ness @ McAllister

The San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery is pleased to present, Family Day at SFAC Gallery: A Day of Building Art with Everyday Stuff in conjunction with the exhibition, Isn't It Obvious? San Francisco Artists Consume the Banal.

Please bring your friends and family to this free event hosted in partnership with SCRAP, a non-profit creative reuse center, materials depot, and workshop space founded in 1976 in San Francisco. SCRAP's mission is to stimulate creativity and environmental awareness in children and adults through promoting the creative reuse of materials that traditionally have been discarded as waste.

The SFAC Gallery will host the staff of SCRAP as they instruct and guide participants in the countless ways everyday objects and even the most obvious of materials can be rearranged, repositioned and remade into works of art.

Family Day is free and open to children of all ages. Join us!
