POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

The San Francisco Children's Art Center, located at Fort Mason Center, is a non-profit organization that has provided art education to Bay Area children for over 30 years. Our mission is to empower children and foster their sense of self through exploration of the artistic process. The Art Party Teacher will be responsible for leading  Art Birthday Parties on weekends on an as-needed basis.

SCHEDULE/HOURS

This is an on-call position. 

Work Schedule: Sundays between 10:45 and 4:15.  (one or two shifts)

Shifts are  2.5 hours each.

 

WAGES $40/birthday party

 

Duties: 
  • Work as a team with other art teacher and other assistants.
  • Assist with classroom preparation and cleanup.
  • Coordinate with teacher to plan a project for the party.  Types of projects include: Printmaking, Painting, Playdough, Collage, Drawing, Shrinkies, etc.
  • Working with children ages 3-10 and their parents.
  • Assisting serving party refreshments.
Requirements: 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in education, art, early childhood education, or other related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience working with children on art activities.
  • Ability to remain calm and think clearly

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with children ages 2-10
  • Trained in CPR
