Part-Time Temporary Development Assistant
The ideal candidate is an independent worker who is eager to help a small nonprofit organization, who is interested in the fields of international exchange and youth leadership and one who is dedicated to working for social justice.
Review database of past individual donors for "major" donors and re-cultivate relationships (e.g., through in-person meetings, phone calls, newsletters, etc.). Ensure the database is up-to-date with recent contact information.
Coordinate creation and delivery of monthly email communication with supporters (about World Bridges events, etc.) through Constant Contact.
Prepare and distribute newsletter and donation requests, with assistance from Administrative Coordinator and WB board members/volunteers
Assist in adding content to the World Bridges website.
Research potential new grants/funders and assist with proposal writing.
Coordinate meetings between foundation funders, board members, and alumni.
Manage runner and donor participation in the Cause to Run benefit race in the summer of 2010.
Minimum of two years event coordination and/or fundraising experience
Must have previous foundation fundraising and/or individual donor cultivation experience
Previous international travel experience, and strong interest in international exchange and youth leadership with a social justice lens.
Excellent people skills, including comfort as public speaker and experience working with youth or young adults.
Must be organized, detail-oriented and committed to the mission and goals of World Bridges.
Willing to work occasionally on some evenings and weekends for events or meetings.
Self motivated to work independently but also with collaborates well with others.
Good writing skills and experience with managing budgets
Proficiency with Word, Excel, MS Access database, and Internet-based applications, especially social media.
Salary: hourly, commensurate with experience.
