San Francisco Public Library is offering 3 youth paid internship opportunities in planning and promoting Teen Summer Read 2010.

 Details

· Application deadline: March 18th 2010
· Work Dates: May 10-Aug 5 2010
· Hours required/weekly schedule: afternoons 2-3 hrs per week-32 hours TOTAL
· Stipend: $350-offered in 2 payments (June 30 and Aug 10th)
· Position Location: San Francisco Public Main Library, 100 Larkin St SF CA

Duties: 
Primary Responsibilities:
· Attend and participate in planning meetings promoting Teen Summer Read 2010, a reading promotion program.
· Plan Teen Summer Read Finale Party on Wed August 4th 2010, from 4-8pm at the Main Library.
· Work closely on a youth intern team.
· Contact educators and youth participants.
· Conduct outreach in the community: post flyers
· Assist with mailings and online publicity
Requirements: 
Qualifications:
· Must be 14-18 years of age
· Go to school in San Francisco
· Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment
· Must be punctual, attend regular meetings, and maintain excellent relations with youth and adult planners
· Strong communication skills
· Preferred: experience planning events, experience promoting events online and in person
