Talking Market Street: If Market Street Could Talk...
During summer 2006, adults from the Sixth Street Photography Workshop and youth photographers from the Fostering Art Program of A Home Within collaborated to create a series of photographs of and recorded interviews with pedestrians on Market Street. Participating youth learned basic photography and interviewing skills from Sixth Street Photography Workshop and A Home Within staff prior to participating in a series of photography and recording sessions at six different locations on downtown Market Street. Youth assisted in editing the material for public screenings, which presented an overview of the diverse range of cultures and architecture on San Francisco's main thoroughfare.
Two public screenings were presented in October at One Bush Plaza and The Luggage Store..
