Project Synopsis
Muni Metro East Light Rail Maintenance and
Operations Facility Artwork
Design for two curtain walls on the east side of
the Metro East facility, based on Muni historic transit element blueprints.
The Artist Team of Nobuho Nagasawa and Anita Margrill have been commissioned to design two glass curtain walls for the new maintenance facility currently under construction at Illinois and 25th Streets, off of Third Street. Each curtain wall is approximately 19 wide and 36 feet high. The designs were based on historical transit blueprints from the Muni archives. The design work for the glass curtain walls is complete and approved. At this time, fabrication and installation is scheduled to take place in the Spring of 2008.
