The Art on Market Street Program

The Art on Market Street Program provides round-the-clock access to contemporary art for thousands of workers, residents and visitors in downtown San Francisco. On Market Street, San Francisco’s main thoroughfare, pedestrians are able to view poster reproductions of original artwork installed in kiosks day and night throughout the year, and attend public events related to each poster series, as part of the Kiosk Poster Project Program.

Please note that the Arts Commission does not accept unsolicited proposals for the Art on Market Street Program at any time.

The Art on Market St. Kiosk Poster Series

The Art on Market Street Program Kiosk Poster Projects Program commissions Bay Area artists to create original poster designs, to include six related images based on an annual theme, and to develop auxiliary public programming related to the posters. There are three exhibitions a year, each lasting three months. A Request for Qualifications for the 2010 Kiosk Poster Projects will be available on this website in the Fall of 2009.

The Art on Market St. Temporary Projects Program

The Art on Market Street Temporary Projects Program is commissioning one original new artwork by a Bay Area artist or artist team, to take place on Market Street for the 2009/10 season. The application deadline for this season has passed. Applicants, including short-listed finalists, will be notified by July 31st.
