JCDecaux Kiosk Activation

The Arts Commission is running a pilot kiosk activation for select locations along Market street. Artists, art vendors, and arts organizations can apply for free access to JCDecaux kiosks for a minimum of 10 hours/2 days a week.

Department of Public Works Mission statement:
The multi-function Public Service Kiosks (“kiosks”) shall be community-serving assets. Their activation shall support positive and vibrant street life and community-building, through support of home-grown and neighborhood-based partnerships, focusing on locally owned businesses and non-profits.
JCDecaux Kiosk Activations support artists living and working in San Francisco. Approved Applicants will have access to a JCDecaux kiosk for a minimum of one week. Artists may activate the kiosk however they want with the stated goal of supporting positive and vibrant street life and community-building, through support of home-grown and neighborhood-based partnerships, focusing on locally owned businesses and non-profits. Applicants must activate the Kiosk a minimum of 10 hours/2 days a week. Applicants may devise their own schedules to meet this requirement.
Who Can Apply
- Art Vendors looking to sell their crafts.
- Artists looking for site specific activations.
- Art Collectives showcasing and/or selling their work.
- Nonprofits with goals for arts based community building and impact.
Requirements
Weekly Activation: Kiosk occupants must activate the kiosk at a minimum of 10 hours/2 days a week at one of the following locations:
- Market & Steuart – PSK 3
- Market & Sutter – PSK 23
- Market & Post – PSK 36 ( Montgomery )
- Market & 5th - PSK 69
- Market & 7th - PSK 73
Insurance Requirements
Approved Kiosk Applicants will need to sign off on an agreement between themselves, the San Francisco Arts Commission and JCDecaux. The Arts Commission will provide the required insurance coverage.
If the Applicant has insurance to cover operations, please submit that with application for review.
Application Review
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Approval
After a review of the application by Arts Commission staff and City Risk Management, approved applicants will be offered a choice of available kiosks.
