Tina will walk you through the eligibility and requirements for that program scoring criteria. How the panelists will your application. 23 00:42:14.274 --> 00:42:23.394 What the application process entails how to submit your application online and there's that time allocated on. 24 00:42:26.604 --> 00:42:29.034 Grad program evolution of. 25 00:42:32.304 --> 00:42:39.354 Grant program, it's a grand program that funds creative writers to encourage that to see. 26 00:42:39.954 --> 00:42:48.564 Developed the applicant must be a fiber 1 C3 organization to be eligible to. And as a reminder. 27 00:42:50.880 --> 00:42:51.630 Cisco. 28 00:42:54.565 --> 00:42:58.975 And then if you happen to visit the San Francisco commission website. 29 00:43:01.794 --> 00:43:05.964 Down the road, the guidelines have been revised. 30 00:43:15.175 --> 00:43:30.325 I'm going to share a little bit about the commission with the agency that champion as a central by investing in a vibrant community enlivening, the urban environment. 31 00:43:31.919 --> 00:43:41.964 Hotel policy, we are 1 of the 2 agencies in the city that specifically funds the art along with grants parts programs. 32 00:43:45.985 --> 00:43:52.825 Public our program investment team of which we are here to. 33 00:43:56.784 --> 00:43:57.744 Next slide. 34 00:44:01.164 --> 00:44:14.814 The San Francisco commission is the 1st agency to approve a racial equity statement. This is a guiding principle, and is also published in all of our next. 35 00:44:18.204 --> 00:44:35.154 The community investment program, support San Francisco artists, organizations, and communities with an equity lens to grants technical systems capacity, building, economic development and education initiatives. 36 00:44:39.895 --> 00:44:43.585 Just want me to share this slide with you a sense of. 37 00:44:46.704 --> 00:44:54.741 Through the fund last year we received 292 Africans and. 38 00:44:57.804 --> 00:45:08.631 1.6M dollars those supports went to a 154 grantees of those organizations individual items. 39 00:45:11.904 --> 00:45:28.314 You'll also see that there was a little over half of an applicant success rate there and we need all of our grant programs through grant panels and for you, sir, to make those recommendations. 40 00:45:34.164 --> 00:45:50.154 This is a visualization work essentially, and it gives you the flow of where we are on any particular cycle. We do this right now. We're in the outreach and technical assistance. 41 00:45:51.024 --> 00:46:00.174 Um, for this grant for particular, the application, what we do next month in February, it's also a grant parallel review that will. 42 00:46:03.145 --> 00:46:15.625 Funding approvals go through the community investments. Committee of the commission approved by the, for promotion the following 1 and then the grantees work on the deliverables grant contract. 43 00:46:18.235 --> 00:46:19.045 I don't know. 44 00:46:22.464 --> 00:46:24.114 And then the cycle. 45 00:46:28.975 --> 00:46:30.715 Applications and the. 46 00:46:36.144 --> 00:46:43.614 Uh, and now I'm going to turn it over to Tina to talk through the item. This Methodist program, you. 47 00:46:46.104 --> 00:47:04.914 Thanks so much Jason and hello again to everyone I really appreciate your being here. I don't know where the weather is where you all are, but it's very nice. We're on that. And I hope y'all are experiencing some nice weather. So, yeah, I'm here to go over the eligibility requirements next slide. Please. 48 00:47:09.204 --> 00:47:26.274 All right, so the artivist in residence brand also shorten as a are air support, small and mid sized creative exploration, slash arch arts, education organizations to multi year support for teaching artist, employment and programming. 49 00:47:26.334 --> 00:47:46.406 Grant the highlights include support up to 400000 dollars over 3 years. This is for hiring and nurturing the talents of teaching artists and for the rest of this presentation, I'm going to start calling teaching artist, art of this as part time employees. This grant is open up to. 50 00:47:46.440 --> 00:48:06.595 Our joiners and age groups and supports vulnerable populations and intersectional identities. Jared mentioned earlier that the artivist in residential is an evolution of the writers Corp, teaching artist in residence, or also known as with Tara Grant and we are so happy to be able to. 51 00:48:06.599 --> 00:48:24.534 To take Victor to the next level, and by maintaining the integrity and bigger or professional development or Artemis or teaching artists and expanding the art John and age group serve to be inclusive of life, long learning and creative exploration next slide. Please. 52 00:48:27.835 --> 00:48:46.915 So before we dive in deeper, I just want to provide a little bit a glossary or Alexa, kind of some of the language. You'll see here in the grant. So, artivist very it looks like when it is a combination between an artist and an activist. So, if we expand upon that, those are healers visionaries. 53 00:48:46.974 --> 00:49:07.074 Listeners and for us by naming the teaching artist cohort, art of this, we're striving to cultivate a healing and social justice based approach that reflects and empowers bipap, black, indigenous people of color communities plus communities and vulnerable populations. You'll see. 54 00:49:07.374 --> 00:49:27.204 Throughout the application that we say community learner, community learner means program participants we well, I wanted to kind of step away from the idea that they are participant or a student. Because when people think of students, they think of someone in age between K through 12, when really, you know, you can be a student. 55 00:49:27.264 --> 00:49:47.364 A scholar at any age and we're all about community learning together creative exploration. This is my own lexicon. I want to expand upon this idea of arts education because education really sounds like it's based in academics and art is academic. I'm not saying that, but that it's very much. 56 00:49:47.604 --> 00:50:07.404 Education you think K, through 12 or college or grad school, but you don't think about the entire lifetime of an individual. So artistic creative exploration is artistic engagement at any age or experience level. Lastly, I wanted to I want to call out that vulnerable population in this grant refers to, you. 57 00:50:07.734 --> 00:50:23.250 Between the ages of 0T and 24 years old, older adults, age, 60, and up individuals with disabilities folks affected by the justice system, or foster care and individuals experiencing homelessness and job was next slide. 58 00:50:26.454 --> 00:50:46.074 So, for the project requirements, you can see a list of all the project requirements on pages 4 and 5 of the guidelines. You really want to pay close attention to these pages as they will make sure that you are a competitive applicant. Some of the objectives here. I really want to lift our art of this are hired as part time. 59 00:50:46.104 --> 00:51:05.930 hourlies that hourly employees and teach a minimum of 150 hours. Each year the cohort must be comprised of at least 3 Artemis for the life of the grant at least 2 thirds of the cohort and myself identify as bipap. And at least half of the administrative. 60 00:51:06.414 --> 00:51:11.094 For the art of this grant must identify as next slide. Please. 61 00:51:14.334 --> 00:51:33.486 Um, more things to is that, yeah, the project must directly benefit benefit by pocket plus and and vulnerable populations, but a minimum of 150 learners, the entire grant window. So that means. 62 00:51:33.684 --> 00:51:53.464 In this 3 years, you must reach at least 150 folks. 80% of the grant. So, up to 320000 must be allocated for compensation of the, and the remaining 20% must be allocated for direct programmatic and administrative. 63 00:51:54.025 --> 00:52:13.864 Expenses and I also want to call out that there is a required 20% batch for indirect administrative expenses. This could be you can use this 20% match in 2 different ways. So this could be a cash match and just say, hey, I have 2627000 dollars a year. 64 00:52:14.004 --> 00:52:28.944 To have with this grant, or you could say, oh, I have a staff member that's going to devote X amount of time and that will be the cash match or not the cash my entry but the staff time match next slide. Please. 65 00:52:32.605 --> 00:52:51.355 Eligibility requirements, these are basic eligibility for just about all of our grants here at the arts commission. And so I really want to point out here oh that with our eligibility. And I'm sorry there is an error on. 66 00:52:51.384 --> 00:53:11.514 Slide is that this grant is not for fiscally sponsored organizations so I do want to say this is the 1st iteration of this grant. It will return next year, but for this round, we are not having this sponsored organization participating. 67 00:53:11.844 --> 00:53:12.924 Next slide please. 68 00:53:15.144 --> 00:53:35.274 So more things to uplift with eligibility these, these points here are very specific to the art of this grant. So that your organization mission statement must clearly be focused on arts, education, engagement, development production and or presentation of arts activities and. 69 00:53:35.514 --> 00:53:55.104 From Cisco, there is a corporate address, and a lot of y'all are used to this, but for this grant, we want to be able to include folks to. I'm going to learn my languages today, I guess just Friday but. 70 00:53:55.439 --> 00:54:15.132 Yeah, I mean, due COVID’s economic impacts and all the different health ordinances that are going on, we are opening up our corporate address requirements to include Pre, coven leases from the last 24 months. So from February 2019 through February 2021. 71 00:54:15.714 --> 00:54:35.604 So that orange that are working remotely can still start and still serve the asset constituency can apply. So you can send a lease document with those dates, right? In between February, ranging with those dates, or if you are super dope and own a piece of property in San Francisco. 72 00:54:37.135 --> 00:54:55.775 Um, lastly we are asking for 3 full years of programmatic activity, serving asset residence at the time of the application before our education or creative Expo, exploration, programmatic activities. So, this is also a question That'll be. 73 00:54:55.919 --> 00:55:03.564 In the application, so I'm not going to dive into the on this right now, because we'll go into it in a bit next slide. 74 00:55:06.505 --> 00:55:25.795 All right, so this is just an overview of some of the application you will need to gather. So your approved corporate address proof of good standing a demonstration of 3 years of programmatic activity. Your financial 990. 75 00:55:25.799 --> 00:55:32.754 I mean, 9, Z, and of course work and curriculum samples next slide please. 76 00:55:36.114 --> 00:55:38.814 All right so scoring criteria. 77 00:55:41.244 --> 00:56:01.044 Um, so this area is very, very important to follow. I don't know when they open up the guidelines or the web page while we do this, but this recording will be available. But also, I feel like this is a part where a lot of folks want to take notes because this area will very much help. You develop your responses. 78 00:56:01.494 --> 00:56:21.094 Um, and so that's the so this is what the panelists will use to evaluate and scoring your application out of a total of 100 points. They reflect the grant program goals and how the funds are meant to be used. These are located on page 9 and 10 of the guidelines. 79 00:56:21.264 --> 00:56:40.164 And again, please do a close read of the guidelines while you are tracking your application. And for somebody all that just came in. If you downloaded the guidelines before January, 13, please re, download them because they were revised for clarity of information. So copy. 80 00:56:41.905 --> 00:57:01.345 Anyway, so 1st, connection here is racial equity and the question 1, explain how the goes program aligns with the organization's mission and advances racial equity by prioritizing communities of color and vulnerable groups. 81 00:57:01.559 --> 00:57:21.714 Is that, for each question, there is a word limit, so keep that in mind that, you know, when you're typing this out, then you're going to have to get really succinct and also, but for question 1, we really want to see how your programming ambition advanced racial equity in the past years share how you've collected. 82 00:57:21.834 --> 00:57:41.124 Raised with bipap communities and approach intersectional identities in the past 8 years, avoid writing a list of programs instead share what your goal your goals or outcomes were. So the panel has an understanding of both your organization organizational and programmatic depth and breadth. 83 00:57:42.024 --> 00:58:02.034 Question 2, please provide examples of how your organization has collaborated, supported and managed Artemis in the past 3 years, share what you've learned, or taken away as best practices for working with Artemis in your organization history, and apply that knowledge to the 2nd, part of this question. 84 00:58:02.724 --> 00:58:21.414 Um, which is who, how would the organization design and implement so compose a clear outline summarizing how you plan to implement the art of this program you propose while censoring the needs of the bipap slash intersectional community, you are engaging next line please. 85 00:58:27.264 --> 00:58:47.094 Thank you. All right so this section is called program design and implementation. It's out of a total 30 points for question. 3 here we want to see a hiring strategy to recruit, employ and retain. Artemis some of you may already have teaching artist on staff and so formed as art of this cohort. That's okay. 86 00:58:47.455 --> 00:59:07.465 However, be sure to tell us about your application process and requirements, that will distinguish an artivist from the rest of your teaching our staff. Additionally, we all we all know, that the employee employer relationship is a 2 way street. So, with that said, share some unique professional development opportunities, you. 87 00:59:07.559 --> 00:59:27.714 Plan to provide to the cohort, tell us your vision for how the artivist program will affect your organization and constituents in question. 4 we want to know how you will promote to your targeted audience, basic answers. Like, I'll promote all social media, or I'll just tell a lot of people. 88 00:59:27.719 --> 00:59:47.874 Provide context for how your outreach strategy works for this specific community, or culture you aim to work with. Basically, how does your propose Artemis programmer collect the needs and the people that make up that community, then tell us clear and measurable goals or learning outcomes that will be achieved. 89 00:59:47.879 --> 00:59:52.044 The course of this grant window next slide please.
