Join SFAC Galleries Director Meg Shiffler and editor, publisher, photographer, and founder of RE/Search Publications V. Vale for a walkthrough of Jim Marshall's 1967 on view at City Hall through June 23.

The exhibition chronicles some of San Francisco's most important cultural and social events that took place in 1967 through the lens of now-iconic photographer Jim Marshall. Marshall's career spanned over 50-years and his photographs have appeared on the covers of over 500 albums and captured iconic and candid portraits of Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, the Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin, the Grateful Dead, The Beatles, and countless others.

V. Vale joins Shiffler to give a firsthand account of his experience living in San Francisco at the time and the story behind Jim Marshall's photo of him at the corner of Haight and Ashbury Streets.
