From children exploring visual, literary and performing arts at our cultural centers, to the beautification of our neighborhoods through our public art program, to our grant-sponsored programs funding performances for hundreds of thousands to enjoy, the Arts Commission fosters life-changing experiences in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Want to know more about art happenings in the city? Visit the Experience Art section of this website to check out the latest exhibitions presented by the SFAC Galleries, explore public artworks located throughout the city or learn more about our cultural centers. Our calendar lists all of our upcoming meetings and events, so be sure and check it out!

One of the best ways to find out more about what we are up to is to attend one of our commission meetings. Not only will you learn about projects currently under way, you'll also have the opportunity to weigh in during public comment. The Commissioners that oversee this agency, vote on important policies that affect our local arts ecology. Our public meetings are the forum to have your voice heard on issues that matter to you most.

Are you looking for more opportunities for your children to participate in the arts? We've got you covered. In the Arts Education section of this website, you'll find a comprehensive directory of arts education providers in every imaginable discipline.

Have an issue or concern we can help with? Please reach out to us. If you are reporting graffiti on a public artwork or monument, please call 311. Thank you for keeping us informed, we will dispatch a staff member to inspect the damage and start the process of mitigating the damage.
