Office Kink: A Queer Peep Show

Friday, June 20, 2025 | 8:00 pm
SFAC Main Gallery, 401 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94102

Oakland-based artist Chani Bockwinkel invites you to peer through the gallery wall to witness intimate encounters that blur the line between public and private space. In Office Kink, SFAC’s meeting room transforms into a voyeuristic playground where spectators become complicit actors of queer desire, gazing through a series of peepholes, breaking through the workplace veneer.

Performers include Styles Alexander, Barracuda, Chani Bockwinkel, Gabriele Christian, Aiano Nakagawa, Kochina Rude, and Maria Silk.

This program is planned in conjunction with Service Tension, a group exhibition exploring the complexity of queer sexuality and power dynamics. It is on view in the SFAC Main Gallery through August 23, 2025.

About the Performers

Styles Alexander is a transdisciplinary artist based in Oakland, California. Their choreographic work is rooted in afro-punk ethics/aesthetics, conjure traditions, queer desire, “‘hood mythologies,” divination studies, and anti-authoritarian baneful magick. With an intensive background in classical dance forms, Alexander’s work revels in authentic movement and speech, as anti-colonial tactically. @styles__alexander

Barracuda is a Nigerian-American chef and multimedia artist working in food, film, photography, sculpture and installation. I work collaboratively with Black/queer and trans artists to make work centered in community care and activism, African diasporic storytelling and Black queer/trans liberation. salimatuamabebe.com

Chani Bockwinkel is a performer and filmmaker. She makes queer interdisciplinary-collaborative-feminist imagery for the stage, gallery, and internet. chanibockwinkel.com

Gabriele Christian is an artist bred in New York City and baking in Oakland. Their work metabolizes the vernaculars within BlaQ diaspora—futurity, afrovivalism, faggotry—through body-based live performance and poetics; moreover, they feel the bio to be an unfortunate by-product of capitalistic modes like chattel slavery. @gabriel.mov

Aiano Nakagawa is a dancer, performer, facilitator, and party top based in the Bay Area. She is a founding and current member of A.B.G., horizontally led Queer Asian art collective. Aiano draws inspiration from her childhood/teenhood in the 2000s, pop-culture, and homemaking. aianonakagawa.com

Kochina Rude is a Chicana drag queen, harm reduction advocate, vocalist, and emcee born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. is a San Francisco-based artist and choreographer whose practice emerges from years of immersion in Bay Area queer nightlife as a drag performer, DJ, and producer. @kochinarude

Maria Silk is a San Francisco-based artist and choreographer whose practice emerges from years of immersion in Bay Area queer nightlife as a drag performer, DJ, and producer. mariasilk.com
