Join the San Francisco Arts Commission for the opening reception of To Bright Disturbances, a group exhibition featuring work by Carmen Argote, Sky Hopinka, Kija Lucas, Aspen Mays, and Bonnie Ora Sherk. Curated by SFAC Acting Director of Galleries and Public Programs Jackie Im, the exhibition explores land use, and in particular the ways in which we utilize the land can be at many times extractive, devastating, and at times, restorative. “To Bright Disturbances looks at the different ways we live with and on the land,” states exhibition curator Jackie Im. “There is a tension in our interactions with the environment, and the exhibition asks us how we can be more considered and more intentional with the world around us.”

To Bright Disturbances is on view in the SFAC Main Gallery through December 13, 2025.
