Shaping Legacy Artist Circle Community Collaborator

Shaping Legacy: San Francisco’s Monuments & Memorials is a community-centered and equity-focused commitment to critically examine the monuments and memorials in San Francisco’s Civic Art Collection. This project will engage communities that have historically been excluded from discussions regarding the evaluation of works art and the process of commissioning new works. A team of multidisciplinary artist leaders and cultural advisors will conduct broad-reaching community conversations to guide the key outcomes of the initiative to:

Chinatown Artist Registry

San Franciso’s Chinatown is one of the most historically and culturally dynamic neighborhoods in the United States. Its rich history intertwines with San Francisco’s own story, with records of Chinese participants present at Portsmouth Square during the celebration of California's admission into the Union in 1850. Chinatown has stood in the same location for over a century, maintaining a concentration and continuity of history unparalleled in other ethnic communities of the city.
