San Francisco Arts Commission seeks As-Needed Fine Arts Service Providers to help care and maintain the Civic Art Collection. 

Formal Request for Proposals for:

Fine Art Services Providers who will care for and maintain the City’s Art Collection under the jurisdiction of the San Francisco Arts Commission (Arts Commission). The Arts Commission is looking for qualified art technicians, providers of fine arts services, conservators, and fine art installers (both licensed and unlicensed contractors) with experience and expertise in the installation, moving and restoration of monuments and artworks, with the intent of identifying firms able to perform a variety of services necessary for the care and maintenance of the City’s art collection.

This Request for Proposals (hereinafter “RFP” or “Solicitation”) is being issued by the San Francisco Arts Commission (hereinafter, “Arts Commission” or “City”). The Arts Commission is seeking qualified suppliers (“Proposers”) to provide proposals for one or all of the fine art service categories (“Proposal”) described below. The City has approximately 65 departments, ranging from small to very large. Some departments maintain facilities located outside of the geographic limits of the City.

The Arts Commission will identify a number of firms within one or more art service categories, each of which require different qualifications and experience. The art service categories are as follows:

  • Art Services Contractors to install and de-install large-scale works of public art
  • Fine Art and Cultural Artifact and Properties Conservators
  • Art Care Technicians and Installers
  • Fine Art Transportation and Storage
  • Art Photography, Digital Imaging, Printmaking and Sign makers
  • Fine Art Framing Services
  • Fine Art Appraisers

Firms may apply for qualification in one or more categories. 

The Arts Commission shall order goods and/or services covered by the awarded contract(s) through the issuance of individual Purchase Orders and/or Task Orders which shall be released against the awarded contract(s) during the contract term.

Notice of Intent to Award:
Monday, August 15, 2022, 5:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time

Period for Protesting Notice of Intent to Award:
Within three (3) business days of the City's issuance of a Notice of Intent to Award.
