Join the San Francisco Arts Commission (SFAC) and the San Francisco Public Library for the opening reception of we were here, an exhibition by 2022 Artist in Residence tanea lunsford lynx. we were here is a creative investigation of the Black American presence in San Francisco in the late 1800s and early 1900s, particularly at the occurrence of the 1906 Earthquake. Centered around the captivating oral history of Aurelious Alberga (1884-1988), the exhibition celebrates the historical presence of Black San Francisco while contemplating the present. lunsford lynx will read an excerpt from the project. Refreshments provided.
