The San Francisco Arts Commission (SFAC) is seeking Cultural Ambassadors to help promote selected SFAC 2025-2026 grant opportunities (category/ies to be confirmed).
Cultural Ambassadors will help increase awareness of and attendance at SFAC’s grant information sessions and encourage prospective applicants to submit applications to relevant SFAC grant categories in fall 2025. This is a paid opportunity to be part of SFAC's grant-making process.

SFAC Cultural Ambassador Program (August-December 2025)
Program Overview
Cultural Ambassadors will connect with potential applicants and promote SFAC's grant programs through:
- Emails, phone calls, social media posts, and in-person outreach at community programs/events in San Francisco.
- Approximately 85 hours of outreach activities from August 1–December 31, 2025, adjusted monthly based on outreach plans.
Compensation

Honorarium: $3,145 (~$37/hour), upon program completion.

ROles
- Bridge Builder: Focus on in-person community outreach and some online promotion. Bridge builders must be available and able to attend in-person community events and programs in San Francisco to promote SFAC's grant opportunities to prospective San Francisco-based artists and arts organizations.
- Influencer: Concentrate on social media outreach and hosting at least 1grants-focused virtual conversation. Influencers will also be expected to promote SFAC's grant opportunities to prospective San Francisco-based artists and arts organizations by posting 1 post per week on their social media account(s).
Eligibility Restrictions

Cannot promote FY26 grant categories they plan to apply for.

Cannot be current/former City & County of San Francisco employees, including SFUSD and City College employees.

Must be at least 18 years old.
Availability Requirements
Ambassador must:
-
Be available August 1–December 31, 2025, including:
-
Virtual Orientation: Friday, August 8, 2025.
-
In-person Meetup: August 23 or 24, 2025.
-
Regular weekday coaching sessions/meetings with SFAC staff (9 AM–5 PM PST).

Adapt to varying monthly hour commitments (e.g., fewer hours in December for evaluation tasks). For example, the activities in December 2025 will primarily focus on program evaluation and completing any final administrative requirements and will probably require less hours than August - November 2025.

Desired Qualifications
We’re looking for ambassadors who:

Are passionate about San Francisco arts and culture.

Are rooted in historically underserved communities, including those communities highlighted in the Cultural Equity ordinance (see Administrative Code Section 68.5).

Have social media skills (for Influencers) or enjoy connecting in-person with community networks in San Francisco (Bridge Builders).

Are outgoing and positive.
