ArtSpan, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, builds community by connecting the public to visual arts in San Francisco. Every child deserves access to arts education. ArtSpan's Art for City Youth program aims to fill the gaps left by budget cuts by placing professional artists in San Francisco classrooms. Art for City Youth's teaching artists employ visual thinking strategies during in-class sessions and exhibition tours to expand their students' vocabulary and inspire creativity.

ArtWorks offers an exceptional experience in fine art instruction for children, teens, and adults of all skill levels in their year-round Foundations Program. Individualized instruction and a small teacher-student ratio provide a wonderful learning atmosphere and guarantee fun and success!

The Asian Art Museum's free school programs bring art and history to life and provide practical strategies to help your students look at and talk about art. At the museum students engage with art and stories from across Asia, discover how works of art can tell us about people of different times and places, and make connection between art and their daily lives. Workshops for educators offer presentations from scholars and curators, interactive gallery experiences, and curriculum resources.

APICC's mission is to support and produce multi-disciplinary art reflective of the unique experiences of Asian Pacific Islanders living in the United States.

AXIS is one of the nation’s most acclaimed ensembles of disabled, non-disabled, d/Deaf and neurodiverse performers. AXIS was founded in 1987 and creates world-class productions that challenge perceptions and redefine dance and disability. AXIS also offers mind-opening youth performances and dance workshops for grades K-5 and 6-12. These programs showcase innovative, contemporary choreography and emphasize collaboration among disabled, non-disabled and neurodiverse people.

BAYCAT educates, empowers, and employs low income youth, young people of color, and young women, from historically underserved communities in the Bay Area, in digital media arts. BAYCAT helps passionate storytellers develop the hands-on skills and experience needed to compete for jobs in a booming tech & media industry. Students learn to use cutting-edge technology to gain skills in filmmaking, music production, graphic design, and animation; while learning essential job readiness skills.

The Bayview Opera House currently provides arts education and cultural enrichment to San Franciscans on a low- or no-cost basis. Recent offerings include adult classes in drama, dance, and yoga, DARE TO DREAM ARTS after-school classes, toddler and parent/toddler classes, and an 8-week-long summer arts camp. The Opera House also hosts a large variety of cultural events, community gatherings, and seasonal celebrations.

Mirroring the mission of the Tony Award-winning Berkeley Repertory Theatre, the School of Theatre strives to foster students' creative potential, stretch their imagination, and encourage them as artists. Reaching some 24,000 people in the Bay Area each year, the School of Theatre offers eclectic, year-round programming for all ages, including theatre training, K-12 arts education workshops, educator resources, professional development, and platforms for arts advocacy.

“Bu Falle” unites performers from various musical backgrounds to share our culture with the community. Our artists are natives from the countries of Senegal, Mali, and Guinea, located in the Western region of Africa. Our musicians offer community performances, workshops, and in-school residencies. We recommend our quality performances and classes not only for your entertainment, but also for the extensive cultural and educational benefit that we offer to people of all ages and ethnicities.

At the Build San Francisco Institute, students join instructors in a real architecture studio to work on real projects centered in a major San Francisco construction project. High school juniors and seniors earn credit in two classes: Environmental Science and Architecture and Design. Two afternoons each week, students meet with professionals on a one-to-one basis to discuss their projects. Classes are held in the Build San Francisco studio located at 901 Mission Street.
